As Seen
Good Day, I’m Dr. Tori Brown
I turn opportunities into strategies for ownership, growth, and capital.
I’m an author, researcher, founder, business and real estate development consultant with a knack for fintech, known for analyzing complex deals and finding solutions to complicated problems. I’m from Michigan but based in beautiful Tampa, Florida, but my work reaches far beyond one city. On any given week, I engage with 20+ real world scenarios involving business, real estate, development, capital, and ownership.
I’m not your traditional consultant. I see the opportunity, analyze the moving pieces, and help determine what it will take to move it forward.

Where Can I Navigate You?
My 25+ Years of Experience Allows Me to Wear a Few Hats…
Research & Data
You caught me in my empirical data bag. I can’t help it, I love it! I was always that kid asking why or how we know that's true. So I spent a lot of resources collecting and analyzing information to understand what people, businesses, and communities actually need. In fact, I am going to need your help with my data collection addiction. Please feed the monster and complete a short survey here or learn about my research project and solutions in my community over here. For those who do not know this but data dictates where dollars go in your community. So when you speak up, resources can flow and be deployed to a program near you.
Ownership
We all want to have lots of money but sometimes it gets hard and it feels almost impossible to have. You are not stuck financially, you just need some support from a network that gives you no pressure to purchase anything. Just hang out and get the information until you are ready to start or grow something. Own something, or purchase something. Yes, that something is definitely ownership. Helping people move toward business goals, investment property acquisitions, homeownership, and financial stability is why the network exists. Hang out with us on the network to increase your finances.
Community Development
If you look in my community, you will probably see me there. Through live FFX Sessions, I bring people together to have real conversations about money, credit, financial stability, and what may be standing between them and ownership. I listen, ask questions, collect insight, and use what we learn to help shape solutions around what people are actually experiencing. BTW, we come together virtually too. After our research revealed that 85% of the people we surveyed were experiencing credit related barriers to ownership, we expanded FFX Sessions virtually so more people could join the conversation. You can look here to see what we did.
Pearl Belle My Fintech Platform
Okay now, look who is mixing data with technology? Yes, of course it’s me! I want to do more than just see if someone gets approved or denied. I want to understand what happens before the approval. What makes someone ready for funding? What is standing in the way of accessing assets and ownership? Pearl Belle is where my love for data, technology, and problem solving come together. If you must know, Pearl Belle is a financial navigation platform that uses my readiness scoring system™ to help users navigate toward homeownership, business development, property acquisition, and overall financial stability. Here is where your financial navigation begins.

Author of Seven Published Books
I have been an author since before everybody started writing books with artificial intelligence. My friend Tiffany Crout was a children’s book author over 15 years ago so I said girl let me try that too. I kept noticing people asking me the same questions, and honestly, there are only so many times I can charge somebody to teach the same thing. So I started writing it down. Books are cheaper, they are accessible, and you get to learn and grow while applying what you are reading in real time. My books give me another way to share what I have learned, what I have researched, and what I think people need to know about money, business, real estate, ownership, and making better financial decisions. Check out a few of my books here.

Psychology may have been where I started, but ownership is where my journey took me.
With more than 25 years of experience in behavioral science, counseling, education, and economic empowerment, I have spent much of my career understanding people, how we make decisions, what influences our behavior, and what can keep us from moving forward. My education reflects that curiosity, with degrees in Psychology and African American Studies, two master’s degrees in Community Counseling and School Counseling, and a Ph.D. in Psychology.
Then real estate entered the picture. For more than 20 years, I have worked in real estate development and consulting, helping entrepreneurs, landowners, and aspiring investors build portfolios, think through development opportunities, and structure wealth strategies. That experience showed me that financial stability is about much more than making money. Readiness, behavior, credit positioning, access to capital, and the ability to acquire and sustain assets all matter.
So my work evolved. I began combining behavioral science, financial literacy readiness, real estate, and technology to build new approaches to ownership. I became a technology founder, developed financial readiness initiatives, and created solutions designed to help people prepare for major moves such as homeownership, business ownership, real estate investing, and asset development.
And somewhere in all of that, I found time to write. I have authored books on business, homeownership, the economy, ministry, and life after incarceration, because the things I have learned were never meant to stay in my head.
Twenty five plus years later, I am still doing what I have always done best: understanding people, studying problems, recognizing opportunities, and building solutions that move people closer to ownership and financial stability.
My Community Story
My nonprofit work started in Michigan with something as simple as passing out sandwiches to people experiencing homelessness. But the more I showed up, the more I learned. I realized that some of the people experiencing homelessness were young people, and suddenly passing out sandwiches was not enough for me. I wanted to understand what was happening to those youth and their families and what kind of support they actually needed.
That led me to create programs serving homeless youth and their families, and my work eventually expanded to working with youth and juvenile delinquents. One need kept introducing me to another, and over the years my community work continued to evolve as I listened to the people I was serving.
Today, that same commitment lives through Fresh Community Development Inc., but the work has grown with me. My focus now includes helping people move toward financial stability, homeownership, business ownership, real estate ownership, and greater economic opportunity. And funny enough, after all these years and all that growth, you can still find me right here in Tampa Bay passing out food and sandwiches to people experiencing housing insecurity.
I may have changed cities. The work may have grown. But I never stopped showing up.

I don’t have pictures of me passing food to the homeless because I want to protect their privacy. However here are pictures from my recent free community event in Tampa called FFX Sessions. We had such a great time with the people that came out!
